What's involved in a professional installation

A straightforward-sounding job still has real details that decide whether it's done right the first time. Here's what a professional installation actually covers, beyond simply connecting power and water.

  • Electrical, gas, and water hookup verification

Every hookup is checked against the specific new appliance's actual requirements before anything gets connected — correct voltage and dedicated circuit amperage for electric ranges and dryers, a correctly sized and rated gas line with an accessible shutoff for gas ranges and dryers, and a water line and shutoff valve in good working condition for refrigerators, ice makers, and dishwashers. Skipping this step is how a brand-new appliance ends up tripping breakers or leaking on day one.

  • Dryer venting

A dryer that's installed but vented poorly — a run that's too long, too many tight bends, or flexible foil duct where rigid metal duct belongs — will underperform no matter how new or well-reviewed the machine is, showing up later as long dry times that look like a broken dryer. Proper venting is checked and corrected as part of the installation itself, not left as a problem for a future service call to diagnose from scratch.

  • Leveling and stability

Washers, dryers, and refrigerators all depend on being properly leveled on their feet to run quietly, spin without walking, drain the way they're designed to, and keep their doors sealing evenly all the way around. It's a basic step that's genuinely easy to rush past, and skipping it directly causes a share of the noise complaints and door-seal problems we get called back out for months later.

  • Old unit removal

Disposal of the appliance being replaced is handled as part of the installation visit, so there's no separate step of hauling the old unit out to the curb yourself, coordinating bulk pickup, or scheduling a second visit just to get rid of it. That includes a working refrigerator or freezer, which has its own refrigerant-recovery requirement before it can legally be scrapped.

  • Code-compliance considerations

Gas connections, electrical circuits, and dryer venting all carry code requirements that vary by municipality across our service area, covering things like shutoff accessibility, circuit dedication, and venting material and length. Installation is done to meet those requirements, which matters for straightforward safety reasons and because a non-compliant install can also affect manufacturer warranty coverage or a homeowner's insurance position if something goes wrong later.

  • Fit and clearance checks before delivery day

A new appliance that's a fraction of an inch too wide, too deep, or too tall for its opening is a genuinely common and entirely avoidable problem — cabinetry, doorways, and stairwells all have to be accounted for, not just the space the old unit currently sits in. Confirming clearances against the actual model's dimensions ahead of time, rather than assuming a like-for-like fit, is what avoids a delivery that can't be installed at all.

On site

What the visit looks like

Your technician arrives inside the agreed window, in a marked vehicle and with photo identification. You get their name and photo by text before they set off.

They diagnose the fault, explain in plain language what has failed, and hand you a written estimate. Nothing proceeds until you approve it.

Most repairs finish in the same visit. Where a part has to be ordered we book the return before leaving, and you are not charged a second diagnostic.
