Miele Repair Across North Jersey, Rockland, Westchester & Fairfield

Miele builds dishwashers, washers and dryers for a long working life, and their owners usually want them repaired rather than replaced, rightly so in most cases. Miele parts are often ordered rather than carried, so a first visit typically confirms the fault and ends with a written estimate and a parts timeline.

Common Miele problems we fix

What usually goes wrong, what causes it, and what it means for you. A starting point, not a diagnosis.

  • Dishwasher not draining

Usually a clogged filter combination, a blocked drain pump or a kinked drain hose; the display shows a drainage fault when water is not pumped out. Clean the filters first. If the fault stays, the pump or its non-return valve is next.

  • Water intake or leak fault

Miele's Waterproof system shuts off the water supply when it detects a leak, and the dishwasher reports an intake or leak fault. The cause can be a leak inside the base, a failed inlet valve, or simply a closed or partly closed tap.

  • Dishes not clean or not dry

Scale on the spray arms and filters from hard water is common here, which is why the salt reservoir and rinse aid matter on a Miele. A heating fault also leaves dishes wet and poorly cleaned.

  • Washer won't drain or spin

A blocked drain filter or pump, usually from a coin, hair tie or sock. The filter is reachable from the front, and clearing it is often the whole repair.

  • Heat-pump dryer not drying

Miele heat-pump dryers depend on clean lint filters, including the plinth filter at the bottom front. A clogged plinth filter is the most common reason they stop drying properly.

Repair or replace

Is it worth repairing?

Miele appliances are designed to be repaired, and most faults are a pump, valve, filter, heater or sensor rather than the whole machine. Repair is usually the better value. The main question is parts lead time, which we confirm before you commit.

Still under Miele's warranty? Call Miele first: warranty repairs go through the manufacturer's own service network. We're an independent repair company and fix Miele appliances once the warranty has ended.

Questions

Miele repair FAQ

Why is my Miele dishwasher not draining?

Most often the filter combination at the bottom of the tub is clogged, or something is blocking the drain pump. Clean the filters and check the drain hose for kinks. If the drainage fault returns, SOS Appliance Repair can test the pump and its non-return valve.

Is it worth repairing a Miele appliance?

Usually, yes. Miele dishwashers, washers and dryers are built for a long life and their common faults are individual parts. SOS Appliance Repair diagnoses first and gives a written estimate, including the parts lead time, before any work.

How do I reset a Miele dishwasher?

Turn it off with the On/Off button, wait a few minutes and turn it back on. That clears a one-off fault message. If the same fault returns, it is reporting a real problem, most often in the drain (filters and pump) or the water intake, and resetting again will not fix it. SOS Appliance Repair can find and repair the cause.

Do you repair Miele appliances under warranty?

No. While a Miele appliance is under the manufacturer's warranty, Miele arranges repairs through its own authorized service network, so call them first. SOS Appliance Repair is independent and repairs Miele appliances once the warranty has ended, with its own 12-month parts-and-labor warranty on the work.
